Creativity Conversation – The Key to Creative Thinking
The seminar "Conversation about Creativity" took place at the University of Bielsko-Biała and gathered outstanding experts who reflected on the essence of creativity, its teaching and the role of a creative person. Participants included prof. dr hab. Ernest Zawada , dean of the Faculty of Humanities at UBB, and dr Robert Pysz , UBB spokesman from the Department of Communication Theory and Practice.
During the discussion, creativity was defined as a creative process that goes beyond the reproduction and duplication of patterns. Professor Zawada emphasized that creativity applies to art, science, entrepreneurship, and other areas of life. He also noted its connection with innovation and the avant-garde, as well as the need to cross mental barriers.
An important point of the seminar was the issue of teaching creativity. The participants agreed that although creativity can be learned, it requires appropriate conditions, motivation and inspiration. Professor Zawada emphasized the role of the master-student relationship in this process and the importance of the Internet as a tool for gaining knowledge and inspiration. An important aspect of creative education is also the courage to take risks, humility and systematic work.
In the conversation, Professor Zawada emphasized that a creative person should not be guided only by the desire for profit, but should strive to create added value that benefits society. He also pointed to the role of talent, which should be developed, and the fact that creativity is the path to a decent existence. In this context, he noted that necessity is sometimes the mother of invention, but lack of fulfillment can inhibit the creative process.
In conclusion, the seminar showed that creativity is a complex process combining talent, work, courage and willingness to learn and take risks. It is not only a flash of inspiration, but also a consistent creation of values that influences the development of an individual and the entire society.
