The motto of one of the training courses in 2015, discussing the procedures for applying the provisions of the Landscape Act, was a statement by the Spanish philosopher Josè Ortega y Gasset: "Show me the landscape you live in and I will tell you who you are".

The appropriateness of this statement in the context of the state of the Polish landscape and the visible neglect in shaping public space in our reality was unquestionable.

The effect of the lack of legal regulations after 1989 enabling the taking of real administrative actions aimed at limiting the invasion of aggressive advertising into the public space of our cities or open spaces was the degradation of the landscape.

The Landscape Act introduced gave local governments the ability to create regulations containing the principles and conditions for siting advertising, small-scale architectural objects and fences.

Current activities, following the introduction of the advertising resolution, can be described as a process aimed at improving the quality of public space through the systematic elimination of arbitrarily located advertising boards and devices and the application of adopted principles in the implementation of newly created ones.
